Let’s explore each of these …

TRUE WINTER

True Winter is the colour season reminiscent of winter in its prime – the depths of Winter.  White, snowy landscapes contrasting with bare trees and the darkest of nights twinkling with the stars littered over the winter night sky.  The extreme colours presented in this season contrast with light, dark and bright colours.

Overall appearance:

When you look in the mirror, the first thing you notice about your colouring is its frosty coolness.  Your skin, eyes and hair all have cool undertones of blue or beige.  There is no warm quality in any of your features and blue undertones dominate your skin, hair and eyes.

Additionally, your skin, eyes and hair have a brilliant and clear appearance with no muddiness or softness in them. There is high contrast in your features.

Eyes:

True Winter eyes are cool with blue undertones coming in a variety of shades, ranging from cool blue to icy hazel, cool browns and black.  You may notice a border defining the iris and possible spokes on the iris.

Skin:

True Winter skin is has clear cool and blue undertones standing in contrast to hair, eyes and the whites of the eyes and the teeth.  Silver will make the skin look healthy however gold will make it look a little off.

Hair:

Hair is typically dark, ranging from dark ash brown to black.  This colour season’s hair does not have any natural highlights, and the hair is either neutral or ashy.

Contrast:

True Winter has a stark contrast between the features with a high contrast between the iris and whites of the eye.  Even if the skin is dark, a contrast between the whites of the eyes, the teeth and the rest of the features remains.  The images below demonstrate the clear differences in shades in both cases.

DARK WINTER

Dark Winter is the colour season reminiscent of deep winter nights, when the stars contrast with the black-and-blue sky, creating an atmosphere of mystery and magic.

These colours are dark and cool, just like when the moon tings the night sky bright and illuminates the dark, misty forests beneath. Dark Winter colours are the colours of the night.

Overall Appearance:

When you look in the mirror, the first thing you notice about your colouring is that your hair and eyes are dark.  Your skin may be dark too, or it might be very light.

Regardless of the colouring of your skin, there is always a high contrast between the features.  This is because the whites of the eyes and the teeth provide plenty of contrast against the dark eyes and hair (and dark skin).

In addition, your colouring has cooler undertones, meaning silver flatters your skin more than gold.

Eyes:

Dark Winter eyes are, of course, dark. It’s no surprise that the most common eye colours are dark brown and black.  Very dark olive, dark hazel and even a very deep, cool blue are also possible.  You may notice a border defining the iris and spokes on the iris, which are characteristic of Winter eyes.

Skin:

Dark Winter skin is either neutral, or neutral-cool.  Both gold and silver look good against it, but silver looks better.  Dark Winter skin has the biggest range of skin colours, ranging from fair to deep.

Hair:

Dark Winter hair is also dark, ranging from medium brown over dark brown to black.  The colour tends to be either neutral or slightly ashy.  It generally doesn’t have any highlights and also doesn’t develop any when exposed to sunlight.

Contrast:

Dark Winter is a colour season of high contrast between hair, eyes and skin.  There is even a high contrast between the iris and the whites of the eye.  This is particularly true for individuals with overall dark features.

The images below shows the difference in shades between the features.  While the hair and eyes are very dark, the skin is very light in comparison.

BRIGHT WINTER

Bright Winter is the colour season reminiscent of when the winter sun illuminates the snow-white expanses. The play of sunlight on cold winter landscapes creates a bright and sparking image.

These are the vibrant and almost unnatural colours of extreme weather situations like the Northern lights in the night sky.  They are the colours of the cosmos and the galaxy.

Overall Appearance:

When you look in the mirror, the first thing you notice about your colouring is a very high contrast between your hair, skin and eyes. Your features are saturated and bright with no muddiness, giving you a crisp and clear appearance. Possibly, your eyes may be your most striking feature. Sparkling like jewels, they often stand in contrast against the darker hair.

In addition, your colouring has cooler undertones, meaning silver flatters your skin more than gold.

Eyes:

Bright Winter may have strikingly bright, sparking eyes.  Eye colours range from blue over cyan to dark brown and black.  Regardless of the colour, they are always cool.

Typical of Winter eyes, you may see a border defining iris and possible spokes on the iris.  There is also a high contrast between the iris and the whites of the eyes, which makes the eyes appear clear and bright.

Skin:

The skin is either neutral or neutral-cool allowing both silver and gold to look good against it, but silver looks better.  Skin tones range from fair to deep and the skin’s appearance is clear and it often has a certain translucent quality to it.  Darker skins have a glowing, almost glassy shine to them and some Bright Winter also have freckles.

Hair:

Bright Winter hair is quite dark ranging from medium brown to black and can have either blue or ash undertones or be neutral.

Contrast:

Out of all the seasons, Bright Winter is the one with the highest contrast between skin, hair and eyes.  There is even a high contrast between the iris and whites of the eye.  The images below demonstrate the differences in shades between the features.  The first image shows how the lighter skin and eyes stand out in contrast to the dark hair while in the second image, the high contrast is created by the dark features against the whites of the eyes and the teeth (which are not visible in the image).
